MONCYTE Health has joined the Fingenious® Ecosystem, connecting our cellular diagnostics platform to Finland’s national network of biobanks and opening our services to industry and academic researchers worldwide.
Fingenious® is operated by FINBB, the Finnish Biobank Cooperative, and serves as a single point of access to biological samples, clinical and genetic data, and study participant recruitment across all Finnish biobanks. It’s the largest hospital biobank collection in the world, holding more than 14 million samples, many of which can already be linked to comprehensive national health register data, giving researchers biological material and longitudinal health outcomes in one place.
Through this collaboration, MONCYTE Health is offering foamy monocyte analysis as an add-on service for biobank researchers. The method quantifies cellular lipid storage and uptake insteadin immune cells from frozen PBMCs and fresh white blood cell samples, using high-resolution microscopy, automated image analysis, and AI-assisted quantification. It extends to lipoprotein uptake and inflammatory cytokine production, with relevance to cardiometabolic disease.
Joining the ecosystem brings us closer to researchers and institutions already working with biobank data and opens the door to future projects that connect functional cellular biology to national healthcare data and more individualized cardiovascular treatment.
